about

Witney Motor Club was founded in October 1963. It was a result of an advert placed in the Local paper, "The Witney Gazette" by Mr. Arthur Titherington. The advert read something like: "Is anybody interested in forming a Motor Club in Witney" The reaction to this advert was sufficient to form a committee. This committee recruited interested parties and organised a calendar of events. The club had a response and the club went from strength to strength. The committee organised events and club members attended. Some of the well known names in Motor Sport started with Witney Motor Club. CREATE NEW GROUPS

Could you pass on a big thank you to two of your members who crossed 3 lanes of traffic to pull us to a safer place on the M3 on the way to the Syd Taylor autocross on Friday afternoon. Our van fully loaded +trailer decided to pop a fuel pipe and we were stuck half way on a slip road just waiting for someone to hit us! They not only towed us to safety but they got us going again, I thanked them personally but without them I don't think we would have had such a good weekend! Alan Cartwright and Chris Charleston thanks again, Top blokes

We are one of the invited clubs to a great little event on Sunday 24th September. It is the Autumn Trial at Burton Dassett Country Park, just North of Banbury, and run by the MG Car Club Midland Centre. Suitable for most cars, road legal or not. Regs available from www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgccmidlandcentre
